“Counterreformation” — „the Catholic Reform” — „Confessionalisation”. Conceptualizing Ideas in the Research on Early-Modern Catholicism in a Global Approach
The paper discusses different cocepts used in historiography whose aim is to signify the processes in motion within the functioning of the Catholic Church community. The conceptualization of the mentioned concepts via the nineteenth and twentieth century political and social ideologies. The author attempts to critically revise the assumptions linked to these conceptions and draws attention to the possibility of re-using them in the global studies on Catholicism
