On the (NON)Innocence of Concepts. Gentrification in the Discourse on Global Processes and Its Ideological Contexts
The article aims to show the problematic status of the concepts and categories which serve in the scientific discourse to describe global processes. The language used by science is connected with other discourses, eg. political and economic which can result in its semantic and axiological endowments. This is not only to be seen in words such as “globalization” or “migrations”, but also in such notions as “gentrification” explaining the direction in which modern cities, as the spaces of realization of global processes, change.
