Artist’s Ambivalent Logo In A Post-Utopian Standarization
After 1989 the process of desemantization and desacralization of symbols has accompanied the “rites of passage” from a regime to a free market in the whole Eastern Bloc. Freedom in an all-encompassing standardization has been defined by artists as a possibility of an unrestricted, unanticipated by instructions use of symbols. Today, the artist, by using forged logos-hybrids, points out from the position of province at an anxiety that globalism means the power of the center. The artist himself becomes an error in a program and his sabotage disfunctionalizes strategies of mark positioning in order to reveal our wounds after burnt slogans.
