Crisis and collection
In my paper I attempt to show how social, political and economic crises have influenced the praxes of collection. These crises enable the collectors to enlarge their collections, contribute to the changes in the collectors’ interests and stabilize the position of collected items. I reflect on the crisis of the idea of collection itself, constantly threatened by the decreasing market value of its elements.
