Global Bioethics in Crisis: The Neo-Confucian Critique of Global Bioethics
The global bioethics is supposed to provide the solutions and regulations for biomedicine and biotechnology. According to Potter, the fundament of the global character of bioethics consists in its universal and functionally conceived system of values. Yet according to Beauchamp and Childress, it is rather to be seen in the universal, common code of morality. The global bioethics undergoes crisis, it is criticized by cultural bioethics, which on its part points to the significance of local identities as the subjects authorized to dictate bioethical regulations.
