The All-European Manifest of the Copists, or on the Career of one Colophon until the 18th century
The article’s aim is to present the way that the couplet expressing the hardship of the scibes’ labour in Middle Ages and modern times traveled in Europe in the course of twelve centuries. The colophon is an example of the proliferation of cultural contents and their reception in the times when their vehicle were the manuscripts that could only been accessed by a small group of recipients.
