Globalization of the Late 19th Century? Historian’s Doubts
The article discusses the issue of globalization at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Referring to certain examples from the history of II Reich, the author questions the idea of using the term ‘globalization’ in reference to the epoch characterized by a departure from the idea of free merchandise, crisis of liberal values, the imperial phase of colonialism and the rise of national states.
