Australian Aboriginal Music and The Faces of Globalization
The present paper is an attempt to interpret certain phenomena taking place as a result of the disconnection of Aborigine music form its traditional ritual context. The author discusses various contexts in which Aborigine music appears in contemporary globalizing culture, such as the musical market, policy activities and tourism. The process of the expansion of Aborigine music is also triggered by socio-political factors, notably the development of the media.
