The United States, China and questions about global leadership
Abstract
In the article I pose questions about the role of China in the current world. I would like to look at it in the perspective of the long duration of capitalism, as proposed by Fernand Braudel and developed by Giovanni Arrighi. This perspective allows us to ask about the relationship between the present and the past, but also about the future that interests us. I hope that this will allow not only to ask questions, but also to provide at least some answers. One of the big questions is whether China is replacing the United States as the global hegemon of the world capitalist system.
