The Copernican Principle in Cosmology and Its Not-Only-Cosmological Consequences
Copernicus, constructing the heliocentric model of the Universe, recognized Earth as an ordinary planet. He reduced its uniqueness by moving from the center of the geocentric system. This reference frame change is a unique thought that can be found today in many fields of the natural sciences.
