A Non-Human Animal
In an article, I will want to raise the subject of the rela-tionship between the human being and the particular context of cultural changes in the present. We live in times when we can observe the ambiguity of attitudes: on the one hand, ecological awareness is increasing, and various movements for all beings become an impor-tant aspect of the social life of Western cultures, on the other hand we can still encounter stereotypical thinking about an animal as a thing. On the one hand, the culture of the West has developed ecological activities, introduced a green policy, on the other hand you can still see the growing pollution of the blue planet, still lack of respect for the earth and its ecosystems. What’s more, the growing economic and social inequalities of the world contribute to the uneven development of ecological attitudes. That is why it is worth considering whether we have actually broken the anthropocentric thinking about the world in the 21st century and what the animal is really for us: the thing, the Other, the different species, the brother or the Entity? What does the animal’s subjectivity mean to us today?

Nieludzkie zwierzę
W artykule poruszam temat relacji człowiek zwierzę w szczególnym kontekście zmian kulturowych współczesności. Żyjemy w czasach w których możemy obserwować dwuznaczność postaw: z jednej strony wzrasta świadomość ekologiczna, a różne ruchy na rzecz wszystkich istot stają się ważnym aspektem społecznego życia kultur Zachodu, z drugiej strony ciągle możemy spotkać stereotypowe myślenie o zwierzęciu jako o rzeczy. Z jednej strony kultura Zachodu rozwinęła ekologiczne działania, wprowadziła zieloną politykę, z drugiej strony ciągle widać rosnące zanieczyszczenie błękitnej planety, ciągle brak szacunku dla ziemi i jej ekosystemów. Co więcej rosnące nierówności ekonomiczne i społeczne świata przyczyniają się do nierównego rozwoju ekologicznych postaw. Dlatego warto jest zastanowić się, czy faktycznie przełamaliśmy w XXI wieku antropocentryczne myślenie o świecie i czym/kim tak naprawdę jest dla nas zwierzę: rzeczą, Innym, odmiennym gatunkiem, bratem czy Podmiotem? Co realnie współcześnie oznacza dla nas podmiotowość zwierzęcia?
