Socialism with Chinese Characteristics: A New Ideology in the Global World?
What is it that “socialism with Chinese characteristics” as used in the discourse of the Communist Party of China stands for? Applied so far to describe contemporary China, are the categories of socialism and capitalism adequately explanatory in fact? I am looking for other notions. Perhaps “new pragmatism” will prove more useful. I am interested in how the politics of socialism with Chinese characteristics translates into international dealings and how the ideology of the New Silk Road can be interpreted.
