The Histories of the Potato: Frederick II and Polish Grounds Between the Seventeenth and Nineteenth Century
The article outlines the history of the potato, Solanum tuberosum as a global phenomenon. I present the dynamic and changing contexts in which the vegetable functions within different areas and at different times. A peculiar case is to be seen in the introduction of field farming in Prussia by Frederick II Hohenzollern.
