World Social Forum as the Arena for Creation of Lasting Change within Social Consciousness in the Era of Neoliberal Globalization
The main goal of the article is to find out whether World Social Forum brings lasting change within social consciousness, if at all? In order to do that, the article deals with three major issues: 1) what is the diagnosis of contemporary world from the point of view of the WSF participants? 2) Who should change the world for the better and by what means? 3) What the other/better world should look like? What emerges is a broad spectrum of heroic utopias questioning the neoliberal status quo within both economy and society. The slogan “Another world is possible!” has many manifestations in real world and inspires people for further actions.
