Global Paths of Cultural Institutions: Participation, Attendance or Education
The paper aims to analyse the impact of globalisation on cultural policies and functioning of cultural instructions, as well as to characterise the changing relationships between the institution and its public. These changes are analysed through references to the notion of cultural attendance and participation, institutional changes and transformations of high culture paradigm. In conclusion it is argued that participation becomes a global trend of exploring the locality and its newly defined form which is considered as generative of new discursive forms that may become a necessary basis for cultural policy.
