Nature and the Globality of the City
The city: what relations with nature and with other cities does it enter? What part is to be played by nature in shaping the globality of such a city? Comparing modern cities with those of the past, even distant past, I conclude that the natural environment determines the relations of the city with other ones, and the net of these connections extends the horizon of the natural environment of the city. The entanglement of modern cities in the net of interconnections of global range enables them to access the natural environment.
