The local and global life space of children and young adults from the rural environment

The environment, one of the basic conceptual categories of social pedagogy, can be analyzed in its many aspects and with the use of various sets of criteria. It can be understood as a communitiy and asssociation (Tönnies), life-space (Lewin, Przecławska), eco-system (Bronfrenbrenner), social circles (Pieter), or “local homeland” (Theiss). The article considers the rural environment as multi-dimensional life-space for children and young adults.
