Human being, citizen, the colonized Distinctions, dualisms, dissonances and discriminations of an exported capillary regimes in studies of European colonialism and imperialism by John Comaroff, Ann Stoler and Frederick Cooper
According to J. Comaroff, A. Stoler i F. Cooper in modern theorizing about culture, society and politics attempting to describe social and economic changes, as seen from both historical and contemporary perspectives, there is a need to develop a new paradigm. The paradigm, depicted as a conceptual scheme for social archeology of the colonial state, is inspired by Michel Foucault’s theory of power and recent discourses of antiraciology, and serves on one hand as a critique of classical modernization theories, and on the other as a polemic against Marxist and neo-Marxist conceptions of colonial domination and exploitation.
